Leander Fire Department Administration
Bill Gardner, Fire Chief – Oversees Leander Fire Department, a combination department with 27 career and over 35 volunteer firefighters.
The Leander Fire Department created a strategic plan for the department, to map out, over a four year period, the process in which the department will evolve to continue to meet the community’s needs. This plan was developed in a cooperative effort with Fire Administration, Leander Professional Firefighters Association Local 4298, and the Leander Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. The Leander Fire Department Master Plan and Guide is a long term plan on how to address staffing, fleet, facilities, and duties of the fire department. The Leander City Council accepted this plan in November of 2011. This plan is designed to be fluid, with updates presented to City Council annually to meet the dynamics of the department, city, and community. To review the Master Plan – Click Here.
